Thai In Mookata | The Famous Thai Select Awardee BBQ

If you were a mookata lover like us, you definitely heard many people having good rave about this place. They even receive the Thai Select awards which makes you even more wonder, how good this place could be among other mookata places? So, we checked the place out to ensure that your visit is going to be worth it! They have many branches in Klang Valley, you can visit their website  to find one nearest to your place. We visited the one in OKR on Friday Night. First impression, we super in love the vibe. The place is tucked in somewhat inside the warehouse complex kinda feeling. Not sure if it were really a warehouse, but at a glance you can see some showrooms and even more other restaurants in the inner area of the place. The mookata place itself is adorned by beautiful outdoor fairy lights with a giant spacious place whereby you see everyone just chit-chatting non-stop with their family and friends. DANCING FISH | MICHELIN STAR AUTHENTIC INDONESIAN FOOD | KUALA LUMPUR

I was visiting Dancing Fish for my friend's birthday. Actually, it had been quite a while since I heard about this place and the good reviews from my closest friends. But, if you want to visit, definitely bring a bunch of friends so you can try various different dishes from theirs.

When I first came across their menu, it reminded me a lot of Indonesia Sundanese typical restaurant. They served 'Flying Fish' for the main course dish. Which is similar with the one in Indonesia. The fish is deep-fried until super crispy, you can even chew the fish bones. I mean, you can never go wrong with fried fish so it definitely taste good yet decent.

We also ordered their grilled fish - Ikan Bakar. For Indonesians, we surely expect a strong grilled sweet soy sauce flavor - kecap manis for our Ikan Bakar. So, it was actually disappointing for us because this one has curry taste. Yet, the curry is not really seasoned evenly to the whole fish, so in some parts you do not really taste the curry which we liked it better. The one thing that hits the spot is the sambal. We got red and green sambal for the Ikan Bakar. But, I loved the Sambal Dabu-Dabu more, paired with the fish. Gives off freshness to every bite.

The one dish that we unexpected love is the grilled cauliflower which surprisingly taste more like Ikan Bakar rather than the fish itself. One of the best dish here. Meanwhile, the Tahu Telor taste just decent. And the Gulai Pucuk Ubi taste as expected - meeting the standard for our Indonesian Gulai Singkong which is a good thing.

Overall, I rate this place a 7/10🌟. You can come if you are craving to eat Indonesian food while celebrating a special occassion. As the place ambience is quite luxurious for Indonesian Restaurant.
