Thai In Mookata | The Famous Thai Select Awardee BBQ

If you were a mookata lover like us, you definitely heard many people having good rave about this place. They even receive the Thai Select awards which makes you even more wonder, how good this place could be among other mookata places? So, we checked the place out to ensure that your visit is going to be worth it! They have many branches in Klang Valley, you can visit their website  to find one nearest to your place. We visited the one in OKR on Friday Night. First impression, we super in love the vibe. The place is tucked in somewhat inside the warehouse complex kinda feeling. Not sure if it were really a warehouse, but at a glance you can see some showrooms and even more other restaurants in the inner area of the place. The mookata place itself is adorned by beautiful outdoor fairy lights with a giant spacious place whereby you see everyone just chit-chatting non-stop with their family and friends. TAI ER SUANCAI AND FISH AT PAVILION KL

This Sauerkraut Fish or Suan Cai Yu Chinese Restaurant Chain is quite famous in Kuala Lumpur. Other than in Pavilion Bukit Bintang, they also have expanded their wings on the luxury mall, Exchange TRX and Pavilion Damansara Heights as far as I know. You can also make your own research whether they are available near your area.

I would advise you to make a reservation as their restaurant is always crowded especially during lunch or dinner time. Moreover, I booked it during CNY so it is definitely extra busy.

We ordered several dishes. Of course, their signature suan cai fish. The fish is definitely super fresh, the right sour and spiciness kick on every bite. They have quite big portion and we only order for 2 pax portion if I were not mistaken. Definitely addicting and I do understand why they are famously known for the fish.

On the other hand, we also ordered their spicy chicken. Do not underestimate the spiciness. They chopped the chicken to bite-size and the mala hits you in every bite. But, it makes you relentlessly pick up another one again and again. It was numbing yet I loved it. As I am a mala lover ahahhahaa.

While, their hot and sour noodles is pretty okay, I guess. I am expecting a stronger flavor.

To calm the heat from the dishes, we ordered two desserts which are the mango sago and coconut jelly. I would prefer the mango sago more, although both came in quite small portions.

Overall, I would rate my experience ⭐8/10. Extra points for providing phone chargers and free drinks.
