They even receive the Thai Select awards which makes you even more wonder, how good this place could be among other mookata places? We visited the one in OKR on Friday Night. First impression, we super in love the vibe. The place is tucked in somewhat inside the warehouse complex kinda feeling. Not sure if it were really a warehouse, but at a glance you can see some showrooms and even more other restaurants in the inner area of the place. AUTHENTIC INDONESIAN FOOD IN KL | TASTE OF MEDAN

For all of my Indo folks residing in KL and desperately in need of a good and comforting Indonesian food, let me tell you something if you have not known yet. You can go to Taste of Medan to get rid of that homesick feeling. Especially, for the Medanese. They have two branches, the first one is in Segambut and the other is right inside the Central Market right at the back in the Annexe. Which might be the most reachable for many.

Our go to order always and always will be their Nasi Sayur Medan. It includes sayur tauco, stir fried mee hoon, gulai nangka and telur sambal. Surely, cannot get enough of the comforting goodness, savoring the taste of authentic Indonesia food which you have been longing for. Especially, if you have been staying away for long time.

They also have what they call as nasi lemak, BUT this is not the Malaysia nasi lemak. But, more of Nasi uduk Indonesia. The side dishes are similar which is the stir fried beans / buncis, sayur tauco, kering kentang, acar ala Medan. For the protein, you can choose either petai prawn, ayam rendang, daging rendang or ayam rempah - if we remember correctly. Definitely, a good plate of nasi uduk - a gem in Malaysia especially.

They also have lontong sayur, nasi tim ayam, nasi ayam medan, soto medan, gado gado, etc. And please, try their Bakso if they have it as the day menu special. It is definitely the best Bakso we have ever tried in KL. Super meaty and taste as authentic as one in Indonesia. It is a mix of bakso urat and bakso halus.

For the snacks, they have gorengan such as tahu isi, risoles, lupis and many more. And the best thing is, you can order Teh Botol Sosro or Jus Alpukat / avocado juice if you are feeling fancy.

Always our go-to place for Indonesia food. 10/10
